I started 2016 with the online version but finished with the cd delux version. How can I get taxReturn.tax2016 uploaded to my online account?

When you use the desktop program, the .tax2016 file will only remain on your local computer and you cannot upload it to the online account for this year.

But, for next year, you will be able to use the file on your computer to transfer the information into the online account to "jumpstart" your 2017 tax return.  I have included a link to the instructions below on how you will do that for your reference (process will be the same for next year).  But, please make sure you retain the .tax files (and pdfs) on your computer for future reference as those returns will not be stored online.  You may want to make a backup copy of both items on a USB or other device.
