I received an email stating that there was an error in the calculation of my tax return. I want to know if this is a true email or is someone trying to get my info?

The IRS will only contact taxpayers via snail mail. They will give a letter with a number on it to call back. An email or a phone call from the IRS is likely a scam.

The email was from TurboTax not IRS
