I received a check in the mail for $2,050 from SunTrust. Is this check my taxes or is it a scam?

Were you expecting a check in the amount of $2,050 - or was it for a different amount?  

IRS checks come from the US Treasury, and if you requested a Refund Loan, it usually comes from Santa Barbara Bank or to a "Green Dot" card.

If you requested a direct deposit from the IRS, you should call them to follow up: 1-800-829-1040.
