Not until you enter your 2018 data.   Transferring the 2017 file only transfers personal information (name address, etc), some carry over data like IRA basis (if any), capital losses, etc, and the blank forms that were used in 2017.

That's too bad. One of my major goals this month was to figure out what the tax changes do to my finances, and using last year's numbers would have been perfect for that (apples to apples comparison).

Well if you have the Desktop program you could fill out a fake test return with your 2017 forms and amounts.  But save it with a name like TEST something so you don’t file it.  The Desktop program can do multiple returns.

🙂 Yes, but that's a bit painful. Btw, for those who are interested, I did find a good option on a different thread - apparently the 2017 desktop version has a "what-if" form in the forms section, that you can use for exactly this purpose. Open the what-if form, click on copy numbers over to another column, click on "apply the 2018 tax rates", et voilà!
