I password protected my tax file, but when I launch the file, it goes immediately to where I left off without asking for the password

The password protect feature is not working

That has nothing to do with TurboTax, that is the built in Mac Keychain feature to remember and enter passwords for you.

You must be sure the Remember in Keychain is unchecked if you do not want auto-login.

Actually I have the same problem, but it is not related to "logging in" to a Turbotax website - its starting the Mac application - and I experience the same problem of not being prompted for a password. I want to be prompted each time anyone opens my tax file - which is password protected (encrypted per the app). Thanks!

If you are auto logging into the TurboTax website then that is the save password function of the browser that you are using.   Every browser saves passwords differently but most have "preferences" where that feature can be managed.

Turbo tax used to provide password protection on it's pdf generation.  What happened to it?  It appears that I need a  subscription to Adobe to access this basic, essential protection that you should provide all of your customers! Forgive me if I am just not seeing the path.  Could you let us know?
