I paid turbo tax $50.00 to file my fed 1040 and il state. il was accepted. fed does not look like it was filed - even though i have the 14 page 1040...what to do now?

Your IL return could not have been e-filed or accepted unless your federal return had already been e-filed and accepted by the IRS.  

You can check your e-file status using this tool:

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 20a of your Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
