I paid for Turbotax and it will not let me file?

The problem lies with TurboTax. The id pin field in TurboTax is 5 characters long while the federal id pin is 6 characters long. The fields don’t match therefore the federal efile fails because the pin does not match the pin that was provided by the federal government IRS department. This problem must be happening to everyone.

If you have a 6 digit PIN issued to you by the IRS you need to enter it in order to e-file. Go to Federal>Other Tax Situations>Other Return Info>Identity Protection PIN and enter the six-digit PIN.
