I no longer pay alimony,however, the program will not allow me to go by that area

How do I get by the section asking for the person that I pay alimony to since I have not had to pay her for several years

Click on the Federal Taxes tab > Deductions & Credits > Scroll down to Other Deductions and Credits > Click update/start next to Alimony Paid > You should be taken to the Alimony Paid Summary page, click delete and confirm the delete.

I followed these steps and did not see any option to delete the Alimony worksheet.

I am unable to continue until the Alimony worksheet is removed.

Often, the program needs the section populated by entering a value for alimony.  

To enter alimony paid -

• Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
• Click on Deductions and Credits
• Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
• Scroll down to Other Deductions and Credits
• On Alimony Paid, click the start or update button

Or enter alimony paid in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to alimony paid

Once this is done, you can follow the steps to delete the entire section on the summary page as previously instructed.
