I never got a W2 from the company i worked at that went under. now i can't contact them to get that info. what should i do?

company went under and never gave me my W2 form for the brief time i worked there at the beginning of last year. they laid me off in February before completely going under. the went under at some point in December but never contacted me about a W2. nor did they issue me one when i left. now im a bit stuck and not sure what to put in the fields of withheld taxes and i dont want to overshoot or undercut.

You can contact the IRS at 800-829-1040 for help on obtaining a W2 or what to do if one is not available. They may have you file form 4582 if they did not receive a W2 transmittal from your employer.  This means you will need to print and mail your return
