I need to print my 2011 tax return. I have the .tax file and the program file for 2011 Turbotax.

When I load the desktop TT program, it looks to update the California return but cannot find it and I cannot get my .tax2011 file to load. Any ideas?

TurboTax updates and state software for 2011 are no longer available. You will not be able to get the 2011 program to run.

You could try TaxPrinter. You send them your .tax2011 file and they send you back a PDF of the tax return, which you can then print with Acrobat Reader. TaxPrinter has no connection with TurboTax. I have never used TaxPrinter, so I cannot make a recommendation. I'm just making you aware of it.

Thank you. By using Taxprinter you expose confidential information to an unknown entity so I choose not to use it.

The IRS and Turbotax only maintain returns for 7 years. so without a service like Taxprinter, you may not be able to see or retrieve the data for 2011. However, the Social Security Administration can provide a copy of your 2011 W-2 for a fee.
