You'll have to purchase the CD/Desktop version of the TurboTax program for each year you wish to file and install it on your computer. After you install it, click the TurboTax icon on your desktop to start the program. Please note the following:
You can not complete a prior year return with the online software. Just not possible because the online software is set up for the current tax year only.
You can not e-file a prior year return. That's because the IRS says so. You have to print it, sign it, and mail it to the IRS.
You should complete prior year's returns in numerical order. So if you need to file returns for 2014, 2015 and 2016, then you should do the 2014 return first. Once completed, you should mail each return to the IRS in a physically separate envelope. Otherwise, it's a good bet that with all the returns the IRS receives by mail, things will get messed up if you include multiple year's returns in one envelope.

Make *SURE* you are under the correct tab on that page, for the tax year you need to purchase. When purchasing the software you by default, will be able to download the CD installation file. After you download it, double click the downloaded file to install it. After it's installed, click the TurboTax icon on your desktop to start the program.
If you also want a physical CD mailed to you, that is NOT automatic. You have to actually select that option when ordering. You'll still be able to download the installation file though, so you don't have to wait for the CD to arrive in the mail.
