There is only one extension to Oct 15, 2019.  After that is it late.

Sorry, there are no more extensions.

Your extension gave you extra time to prepare your 2018 tax return documents.  It did not give you extra time to pay.  If you did not pay your estimated 2018 tax due by April 15, 2019 then when the IRS receives your 2018 return and your payment, they will calculate your penalty/interest and bill you later.  TurboTax will not calculate the penalty or interest.

You have until October 15, 2019 to e-file your 2018 tax return.  After that, e-filing for 2018 will be shutting down, and a 2018 return will have to be printed, signed and mailed instead.  The online software will also be shutting down, so if you are not finished preparing your 2018 return by then, you will have to download desktop software to a full PC or Mac to finish the return.

When you requested your extension you were supposed to pay your estimated tax due.  Did you enter the payment you made into your tax return?  Go to Federal>Deductions and Credits>Estimates and Other Taxes Paid>Other Income Taxes  This will show up on line 17 of your Form 1040

I just finished filing my taxes. If you are using the Turbo tax software there is a opportunity in there to request again to file later. If you can't find it ask the Turbo crew. Good luck...

Don't know what you think you saw, but there are NO second 2018 extensions.  If you think you saw a way to get a second extension past October 15, 2019, you misunderstood.

If you are getting a tax refund, there is no penalty for filing late.  You have up to three years from the filing deadline to get your refund.

If you owe, you are late if you do not file by the deadline and you are subject to late filing penalties and interest.

There is no such thing as a 2nd extension.     An extension only matters if you owed additional tax that must have been paid no later then April 15, 2019 otherwise late payment and interest charges started on April 16.

The extension is an extension to file, not to pay  After Oct 15, 2019 then late filing penalties will start.

(Note that the desktop software has a *form" to mail requesting an extension.  To be valid that must have been postmarked not later then April 15, 2019 - after that the IRS will ignore it.)

Or did you see something about special circumstance such as being in a combat zone that made you think anyone could get more time?
