I need to delete an account that is no longer in use

TurboTax accounts cannot be deleted. If you are not using the old account, just abandon it. Nothing will happen. No one can access it. If a return you prepared using that account is stored there, keep a record of how to get to it---write down the account and user ID somewhere "just in case" you need it someday.
