Yes, it is possible. Most states offer payment plans. You can find information on how to apply for an installment plan through your state's website.
To apply for an extension for your state income tax return, you can use this link: How do I file an extension for my personal state taxes?
Thank you. I appreciate it.
Another Question: I withdraw from my retirement account and taxes were taken, when I file my taxes, I got tax Again. Why is that? I thought I was going to get tax only once.
I will appreciate your response.
Thanks.
If the estimated tax withheld from your retirement payments was not sufficient to cover your tax liability for the year, you may owe additional taxes. Tax withholding in general is only an estimate. It's not unusual to see a different amount of tax owed or refunded when you finish your tax return.
I PAID TAX ON THE RETIREMENT MONEY ALREADY
You had tax withheld from the distributions from the retirement account, just like when an employer withheld tax from your paychecks. When you enter it all into the software, the calculations are done to reconcile the amount of income you received and the amount of tax that was withheld. You might owe more or you might get a refund.
WHAT IF I CANNOT PAY MY TAX DUE?
