Where do I find my AGI?

Your 2017 tax return shows your 2017 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) If you filed a joint return then the AGI is the same for each of you.

Form 1040EZ    line 4

Form 1040A       line 21

Form 1040        line 37

If you are using the same TT account that you used last year, you should also be able to find this number in your Tax Timeline for 2017

If entering the amount from your 2017 tax return does not work, then try entering “0” instead.  If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.

You can get a free transcript of your past return from the IRS:

https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

Note: If you filed late or amended your return, your correct 2017 AGI may not be in the system.

Note:  If you mail your federal return, you will also need to mail your state return.  You will not be able to e-file your state return.

it is a good idea to use a mailing service that will track it like UPS or certified mail.  Then you will know the IRS received it.

As xmasbaby0 suggested above, if you filed real late in the year such as November 2018 or later, then try an AGI of 0 (zero)  since your AGI will not be in the IRS efile database.

Also, before giving up and printing and mailing, try an AGI of 0 anyway--sort of like a "Hail Mary" football pass.  Occasionally it will work for some people, although I can't explain it.  But it can't hurt to try.

I also see you are using "Live Basic", for which you are paying an extra fee, and with which you can have on-demand  live help from a tax expert by phone.   Did you take advantage of all the features with that product, including the CPA/EA review of your return, which they will sign?

So if the amount listed on 1040EZ line 4 does not work and typing in "0" zero does not work. I'll have to print and mail both federal and state tax returns? What if it gets rejected after I mail it? And what amount should be listed for the 2017 AGI then?

When did you file the 2017 return?   Was it prior to November 2018?    If so, use the AGI from the original return, not an amended one (if applicable.)    If filed November 2018 or later, try an AGI of 0 (zero).

Yes, on the 2017 Form 1040EZ, the AGI is on Line 4.

If it was filed before November 2018, and if the actual 2017 AGI doesn't work, if you wish you could pull a 2017 tax transcript from the IRS to see what they are showing.  That requires opening a free account at the IRS website.

http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript

If you don't qualify to open the account, you can order one to come by postal mail in 5-10 calendar days.

If everything else has been exhausted, as a last resort before filing by mail, I would try the AGI of 0 anyway, since it can't hurt, and it has worked for some people.

"What if it gets rejected after I mail it? And what amount should be listed for the 2017 AGI then?"
When filing by mail, the 2017 AGI does not come into play. A mailed return cannot be "rejected" for such, since it is not efiled.    Entering the 2017 AGI is only to verify an efiled return, not a mailed one.

Yes, if you have to mail the Federal return, then you also have to mail the state return.   They have to be mailed separately since they go to different places.   The Filing Instructions should print with the returns.    It's a good idea to mail them by a method that has tracking such as certified mail, priority mail, etc.
