I"m getting message "the mortgate area deduction area will be ready soon" and it won't allow me to enter my mortgage interest. Does anyone know how to resolve?

Are you using the CD/Download TurboTax software? You have to update the software. On the Online menu select "Check for Updates."

Sounds like you are using the Desktop version of TTax which is installed on your computer.  Did you allow the program to access the internet so that the program updates can be downloaded.  All forms have been completed and available since late February.

Launch the TTax program and open or start a 'test' return. (to ensure that the necessary state return(s) is also downloaded. In the very top 'Menu' bar click on "Online";  then select "Check for Updates".

The program will download the available updates and then suggest that you allow the program to restart your computer.  After the computer has restarted launch TTax again;  and go through the update sequence a second time to ensure that you indeed did get all of the updates.

After your computer completes restarting, once again relaunch the TTax program and open your already started return.  Go to the Mortgage Interest section and verify that it now works as expected.
