Did you use the foreign earned income exclusion/housing exclusion/deduction and it negated all of your income on Form 2555, so when it flowed to Form 1040, you have a zero-income return?
You probably have excluded all of your foreign earned income from taxation, so the tax return does not include any taxable income. A tax return with no taxable income cannot be e-filed, but must be printed and mailed.
However, you can add $1 of interest income so you will be able to e-file.
On the Form 1099-INT enter any name in the Received from: box. In Box 1 enter $1
Enter interest income in the Search box locate in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to interest income
