I'm a new permanet resident, can I still get stimulus chekcs?

Hi,

I entered the US three and a half years ago (2019) on F1 (student visa) status. In January 2023, I became a permanent resident. Can I request to get three COVID stimulus checks? If yes, is it doable by using TurboTax?

Thanks!

No you cannot get any of the stimulus payments. If you became a permanent resident in 2023 then you do not meet the qualifications for the three stimulus payments.

To qualify, you had to be a U.S. citizen or U.S. resident alien in 2020 (for the first and second payments) and a U.S. citizen or U.S. resident alien in 2021 (for the third payment), and not a dependent of another taxpayer and have a Social Security number that is valid for employment.
