I'm a Kansas resident but have 2 W2's for the same employer as I work at 2 of their locations. One in Missouri and the other is in Kansas.

My full wages are accounted for in my Kansas W2 boxes 1-6 but my Missouri W2 only has amounts in boxes 16, 17, 18, & 19.  Do I really have to mail in my federal return because the MO W2 has a blank box 1?

No, you don't have to mail your tax return. You can just enter one W-2 since it’s from the same employer. After your entries for MO, you can select Add another state (see image below) and enter the information for the second state.

Follow the steps below to edit your entry for your W-2 and to delete the second W-2.

In TurboTax Online or Desktop:

  1. Open or continue your return
  2. From the menu, select Search and enter in W-2
  3. Select the Jump to link in the search results
  4. On the Your W-2 info so far screen, select Edit next to the W-2 you want to change
  5. Delete the second W-2 by selecting the trash can Delete icon next to it.
