I just looked online and told me to call and mention 1242 why are my taxes taking so long?

1242 means your return has been frozen to await verification of something.  We don't know why this happens, it may be random or there may be secret triggers.  You are supposed to get a letter within 30 days that will tell you what proof they want you to send in. You can try calling, but the IRS is not very good about answering the phone or providing accurate information over the phone.
