I just filed my taxes for 2019, and my question is, does putting an occupation matter? I put unemployed because I got laid off a month earlier due to COVID-19.

Your occupation doesn't necessarily change when you get laid off. I would put my occupation, unless it changes with each job.

Yeah my occupation changes from job to job. I was a bar back at a local restaurant/bar.
