1. if your return was rejected because you had already filed and have been ACCEPTED for processing , there is nothing more to do. IRS will continue processing the first accepted return.
2. I do not understand , how TurboTax allowed you to even transmit a return if you had already filed a return through TurboTax.
3. If you actually prepared , filed and got "Accepted " for processing and now used TurboTax to prepare and file a second return ( the rejected return ), they the question is what are you trying to do ? and why ?
Tell us exactly what the rejection message says--- word for word. Does it say a tax return has been filed with the same Social Security number? If it says that, it means someone else has filed a return using your SSN and either claimed you as a dependent, or maybe entered your SSN by mistake.
If you cannot be claimed as a dependent by someone else, and did not really file a tax return already, then you will have to print, sign and mail your own tax return. Then the IRS will sort out the use of the SSN.
Does your TurboTax account say you have a return that was "Accepted?" Or is it only showing that you recently tried to e-file and that the return was "rejected?"
