As long as you haven't e-filed yet, you can print and mail your return instead. Here's how:
When you print your return, we'll include instructions that tell you what other paperwork to include and where to send your return.
See this link for a video on How to Switch From E-file to Mail.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
I don't see a change button on this screen. I am trying to file by mail not e-file 2025
If you step through the FILE section again, you should get a screen where you can indicate 'file by mail' in TurboTax Desktop.
In TurboTax Online, you will need to pay for your return first, but you'll encounter the same screen after reviewing your order.

I e-filed the federal return. I thought I had one free state e-file. I clicked on e-file state. When TT was going to charge me $25, I did not complete the e-file. I printed the state return to file by mail but there is no payment voucher. When I try to go back, I click on "don't efile. I'll do it later" I hit continue. The next screen says "nothing was selected to e-file. To e-file you need to select something to e-file on the prior screen". I hit the back button but I don't have a selection to make. Thanks @MarilynG1
Here's more info on Filing Federal and State Returns Separately. If you're using TurboTax Online, I'd suggest closing the program, clearing your Cache and Cookies and stepping through the File section again.
When TurboTax asks about your Federal return first, indicate 'don't want to Efile now' and Continue to State to choose 'print for mailing'.
@MarilynG1 Neither suggestion worked. I may try to delete the state return and re-start it unless you or someone else has another suggestion.
