I have claimed my child every year until this year because my partner made more than I did and is the head of house this year. Do we need to sign a form for this?

We live together, and have a verbal agreement that the parent who earns the most (supports the family) claims our child. This is the first year we've had to switch and I'm confused by the info I'm finding.

no form is required. you both qualify as a custodial parent.
