No entries are necessary to indicate you are stationed outside the U.S.  All is done through your W-2.

Also, do count your months in South Korea as months that the children (if applicable) have lived with you and as months inside the U.S.

For dependency reasons- it is considered temporary absence.

For Earned Income Tax Credit - U.S. military personnel stationed outside the United States on extended active duty are considered to live in the United States during that duty period.

Extended active duty means you are called or ordered to duty for an indefinite period or for a period of more than 90 days. Once you begin serving your extended active duty, you are still considered to have been on extended active duty even if you don't serve more than 90 days.

In terms of your state, your SLR state is considered your resident state as long as you are on active duty. Even if you are stationed in another state, you’re still considered a resident of your SLR state. Certain states allow a nonresident state if you have been stationed outside of the U.S. - you may want to check your state's rules.
