Using TurboTax to prepare a RITA return involves some extra steps in the state software program. If you did not go all the way through to those screens for your RITA tax, then you still need to take care of your past due RITA tax. I personally find that it is much easier to use the RITA site than to use the TT program for those local taxes.
RITA Web site: http://www.ritaohio.com/
And.....better take a look at your 2021 return too. If you lived OR worked in a RITA locality you need to take care of the RITA tax. Even if you use TurboTax to prepare a RITA return the return has to be filed by mail. That is why I say use the RITA site yourself instead of messing around with it on TT.
Q. What do I do with this?
First verify if you live in a city with an income tax; enter your address at:
http://www.tax.ohio.gov/Individual/LocalTaxInformation.aspx
Then prepare a Fairborn City tax return, either using TT or the RITA site to get forms.
Then verify that the amount agrees with the bill from RITA (Regional Income Tax Agency that administers the Fariborn [and many others] city income tax).
Then mail the return, bill and check to the address on the letter.
Be advised, if you live in Fairborn, you are also subject to a School District Income Tax (filed separately from city).
