The forms are for 2017 because that's when the house sold. She has three siblings; the tax person for her brother - who is handling the estate - told me that the loss is spread out over four years, $3,000 per year for 2017, 18, 19 and 20. The final year deductions is listed as "$12,519".Turbotax wants specific dates and I receive an error.

" Turbotax wants specific dates and I receive an error."
TurboTax will require specific dates if you select a fiscal year for the K-1.
Further, if the ending date is 2017, then you have to report that K-1 on your 2017 income tax return.
