I have 2 types of tax-exempt dividends: A is exempt from federal; B from federal and NY. I entered the info in the Federal section. Do I enter anything in the NY section?

I see two sections that seem potentially applicable:
1) US government or NY state exempt income, and
2) NY taxable federally tax-exempt U.S. obligations

But the phrasing of (1) in particular is very confusing

After you enter the interest income by making a Form 1099-INT entry on your federal tax return, you will see a screen that says Which state is your $xx.xx of exempt interest from? If you indicate the New York is the state the income is from, you won't need to make an additional entry in the New York return section.
