I had to mail my returns in, not getting a refund nor do I owe anything. How do I know that the IRS has accepted and not rejected my return. Can use the track refund?

I cannot use the track my refund feature on the IRS website as there is no refund. Does not seem to be a way to get an accepted status, per se?

Please follow the instructions here to check your e-file status. This will allow you to see if the return has been accepted or rejected.

You can confirm that the IRS received your paper-filed tax return by requesting a Tax Return Transcript. Please see How do I get a copy of my tax return or transcript from the IRS? for instructions. For a list of transcript types and the information each provides, please see Transcript Types on the IRS website.
