I finished my taxes and went through all the checks. I transmitted the returns and they have been “transmitting for over 7 hours” How do I get it to stop.

Are you using a PC or Mac computer?

 

Are you using Online TurboTax?   Obviously something is wrong.  It shouldn't normally take more than 1-3 minutes to transmit a return.   If that was happening to me in Online TurboTax, and if I didn't see a way to get out of it, after waiting a few extra minutes for good measure, I'd probably close the browser or disconnect from the Internet.

 

Then you have to start doing detective work to see if you can figure out what was causing a transmission problem.    Is there anything unusual with your system--VPN, unusual router setup, such as eero, etc.?    If using Online TurboTax, what browser are you using?    Also empty your browser cache and delete cookies.  Or do you have a different browser to try?   If you were using wireless network, you can try using an Ethernet wired cable to see if that makes a difference.

Hi… thank you, after doing most of that, I got it to transmit. The biggest problem ended up being the OS update for Mac. 🙂
