how can i find out why my amended return was rejected

If you e-filed the amended tax return and it was rejected by the IRS, then you would have received an e-mail from TurboTax which has the rejection code and rejection message.

Check your email account for the TurboTax post.  If not in the account look in the spam or junk mail folder.
