I eFiled W-2 forms almost two weeks ago, and the status still shows e-file processing.
Is there an issue with TurboTax Quick Employer Forms?
It's now past the filing deadline. What do I need to do?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
As long as you transmitted the e-file submission before the deadline, the IRS will have record that you met the e-filing deadline on time. It can take up to 4 weeks for the IRS to process e-filed W-2's. In QEF, use the PDF button next to each form to print the recipient copies and mail copies to recipients by February 2.
From the Intuit Quick Employer Forms online FAQ:
I e-filed my form(s), how will I know it was accepted with the IRS or SSA?
After e-filing your W-2 or 1099 form, please monitor your form status in the Forms tab of the corresponding business. The form status will change from "E-File Processing" to either "E-File Accepted" or "E-File Rejected", once the Government Agency processes the form.
The status change may take up to 2 to 4 weeks. You will also receive a notification by e-mail when the status changes.
For W-2 and 1099-NEC, e-file is due by February 2, 2026 . For 1099-MISC, 1099-INT and 1099-DIV, efile is due by March 31, 2026 .
State requirements:
I have electronically filed, now do I have to mail or submit anything to my State?
After e-filing, be sure to check your state's website for W-2 or 1099 reporting requirements.
Each state's requirements vary, and most don't require the forms be submitted. Perform an Internet search for your state web address to find details. You do not need to mail anything to the IRS or SSA after e-filing with Quick Employer Forms.
