I don't want the EIC, how to delete? It keeps adding it thanks

The IRS randomly excluded it this year after I filed for no reason I can understand. I just got a balance due notice for that exact amount that I paid a few months ago... So I just don't want to bother with it.

I've never received a notice saying I can't claim it, but I just don't want to have to worry about accepting it etc since it is a larger amount this year.

how can I delete it from my turbo tax small business? Thanks!

You can delete the EIC by answering "no" to the question "Did you live in the US for more than 6 months?".

  1. Click on "Search" on the top and type “EIC”
  2. Click on “Jump to EIC”
  3. Continue until "Did you live in the U.S. for more than six months in 2021?" screen and select "No"

Thanks but if I select that answer about not living in the U.S. will it affect anything else?

Or show up that I selected that option on my return? or is that just a way for turbotax to discard that form etc?

Also if I do it that way, won't the IRS send me letters telling me I'm eligible thanks!

No, that question is only in regards to the EIC. If you select the print center in the top right and select "All official forms required for filing" you will see that the EIC Schedule or worksheets are not included.

I doubt that the IRS will send letters questioning why you didn't claim the EIC.
