Where exactly is there something about a federal ID that you need to correct? Are you talking about your own federal ID or a federal ID for an employer, a financial institution, or something else?

Your own personal federal tax ID for yourself is your Social Security number. Your employer's federal tax ID or EIN is on your W-2. You cannot file your tax return without your W-2.
