I found if your on desktop, on the bottom right if you restart your taxes and choose again. It was under other options for the free version for me
If you accidentally selected TurboTax Deluxe you can undo your selection by using the Clear & Start Over option.
With TurboTax open select tax tools in the left-hand panel.
Then select Clear & Start Over.
Select yes when asked are you sure you want to clear your return.
The fact that you have to clear your entire form and start over just for accidentally selecting and upgrade is absolutely ridiculous. It's a money grab of them hoping that people won't want to start over so they will just say "screw it" and pay the extra money for the upgrade to not have to start over. It should be an easy option to change. The option to upgrade further is there, so the option to convert back to the basic plan should also be there as long as the upgrade is not required for their situation. I'm switching to H&R to do my taxes because of this. I've used turbo tax for 7 years and I would rather pay someone else than support this kind of shady move.
I agree. But now you can go under Tax Tools on the left-hand toolbar and click "Switch to Free Version". Hallelujah.
Where???
Can you switch from deluxe on my phone? I don't see it on the bottom. I don't want to pay that amount. I might have to print and mail it.
You probably have to do it by logging into your account on a desktop computer. But if you don't use the Free Edition you have to pay the same fees to print your return to mail.
To go back to a lower version or the Free Edition you can try to clear and start over https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/using-turbotax/help/how-do-i-clear-and-start-over-in-turbotax-onli...
If you started your tax return in TurboTax Free Edition (Form 1040 with limited credits; roughly 37% of taxpayers qualify), you won't need to clear and start over. You can select Switch to Free Edition instead.
In the Turbo Tax Free Edition, information that you can enter is limited now. Why do I have to upgrade from the Free Edition?
