I did not receive a 1040-ES from the IRS even though I sent (checks) quarterly for estimated federal tax. If I need that form, how do I request it from the IRS?

I used the "2015 Form 1040-ES Payment Voucher" from Turbo Tax to pay the quarterly tax estimated for 2015

You do not need a form from the IRS to report your estimated payments. The Form 1040-ES voucher you paid with reported the amount paid and your taxpayer information.

You should review the entry of any estimated taxes paid.  You can also input what date they were paid so any applicable penalties are calculated properly.  Please refer to the instructions below.

If you are using TurboTax Online, except Home & Business

  1. Click on Federal Taxes
  2. Click on Deductions & Credits (you may need to click Continue)
  3. Check your list for Estimates and click Start/Edit; if it is there, skip to step 7, otherwise proceed with the rest of the steps
  4. Click on Check for other tax breaks
  5. Click on Jump to full list
  6. Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid and click Show more
  7. Click on Start/Edit next to Estimates
  8. Scroll down to Estimated Tax Payments
  9. Click on Start/Edit next to Federal estimated taxes for 2015
  10. Follow the prompts to enter these taxes paid along with the date paid.  You can also add state and local estimated taxes, if applicable.  This information may have carried in from the previous year, but you would need to go through these steps to update the late date.  It also never hurts to review the data.

If you are using TurboTax Desktop or TurboTax Online Home & Business

  1. Click on Federal Taxes (Personal if using Home & Business)
  2. Click on Deductions & Credits (you may need to click Continue)
  3. Select I'll choose what I work on
  4. Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
  5. Click on Start/Update next to Estimates
  6. Scroll down to Estimated Tax Payments
  7. Click on Start/Update next to Federal estimated taxes for 2015
  8. Follow the prompts to enter these taxes paid along with the date paid.  You can also add state and local estimated taxes, if applicable.  This information may have carried in from the previous year, but you would need to go through these steps to update the late date.  It also never hurts to review the data.
