You do not need a form from the IRS to report your estimated payments. The Form 1040-ES voucher you paid with reported the amount paid and your taxpayer information.
You should review the entry of any
estimated taxes paid. You can also input what date they were paid so any
applicable penalties are calculated properly. Please refer to the
instructions below.
If you are using TurboTax Online,
except Home & Business
- Click on Federal Taxes
- Click on Deductions & Credits (you may need
to click Continue)
- Check your list for Estimates and click Start/Edit;
if it is there, skip to step 7, otherwise proceed with the rest of the steps
- Click on Check for other tax breaks
- Click on Jump to full list
- Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
and click Show more
- Click on Start/Edit next to Estimates
- Scroll down to Estimated Tax Payments
- Click on Start/Edit next to Federal estimated
taxes for 2015
- Follow the prompts to enter these taxes paid
along with the date paid. You can also add state and local estimated
taxes, if applicable. This information may have carried in from the
previous year, but you would need to go through these steps to update the
late date. It also never hurts to review the data.
If you are using TurboTax Desktop
or TurboTax Online Home & Business
- Click on Federal Taxes (Personal if using
Home & Business)
- Click on Deductions & Credits (you may need
to click Continue)
- Select I'll choose what I work on
- Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
- Click on Start/Update next to Estimates
- Scroll down to Estimated Tax Payments
- Click on Start/Update next to Federal
