TurboTax does not receive any information from the IRS if they apply your refund to outstanding debt.
This is called a refund offset.
What kinds of debts might be offset?
The IRS makes offsets for past due federal taxes. All other offsets are handled by the Treasury Department’s Bureau of the Fiscal Service (BFS), previously known as the Financial Management Service (FMS).
For federal tax offsets, you’ll get an IRS notice. For all other offsets, the notice will come from BFS.
@JeffreyR77 are you a robot? Nothing in my question alluded to any problems with an outstanding amount owed to the IRS. Your response is completely useless and you clearly did not even read my plea.
I have trace number proof that TurboTax’s bank the corrupt Santa Barbra Tax Group who is connected to the also corrupt and criminal Green Dot bank have my money. No one in this terrible company will get back to me. I have been fighting them for my money which I have proof that they have for over a year. Unless you have a direct phone line that I can call, an email of someone who will actually communicate with me, or the legal address for me to deliver this god awful company a lawsuit from my lawyer; do not talk to me.
If you have not received your tax refund, you will need to follow the instructions here to contact the IRS.
@CarissaM @Carissa, I spent days of my life in the last year on the phone with the IRS. I have verified with the IRS that they do not have my tax refund or my stimulus. I had received the trace number. I have confirmed with my bank that they never got the money. I have all the receipts that Turbo Tax/Santa Barbra Tax Support Group/Green Dot Bank has my money. I know it is there. No one is contacting me. No one is helping me and I have PROOF. if you can kindly provide a solution, provide people who I can contact, or provide phone numbers to actual humans, to managers, or to your terrible customer service people that would be appreciated. Otherwise, do not talk to me.
