I bought a plug in hybrid in 2019 and want to take the tax credit. Turbo tax says the form (8936) is not ready yet. However, I can find it when I search for IRS forms.

When the form is released to the software vendors they post the form on the IRS website.

Per our IRS forms availability table for TurboTax individual (personal) tax products Form 8936 will be available by the end of the day on February 12th.

Once a form is released by the IRS, our programmers need to update the form in our system and test the form before they release for you to use. At this time of the year many of the states and the IRS are releasing forms.
