If you have a form from a prior year that carried over, and it no longer applies to the current tax year, you can go in and delete the form.
If you are using:
no it still applies as a carryover loss for a few years
the error i am getting or caution references forms i did not ever use.
strange part is that last year i had no issues.
just this year i encountered the issue. there are no forms to delete
Since you are in the desktop version, you can switch to Forms mode and look for the forms with exclamation marks then look for little pink error boxes.
Thank you. There are no errors and the carryover loss is fine.
I had already checked the forms. I rechecked it again in 2023 and 2024 taxes.
Both the same and no errors.
It appears TurboTax is flagging something it believes that I have a Form W-2G or Schedule K-1
Neither exist this or last year.
I did call Turbotax support a few days ago and got no where. They had no idea.
If there are no red exclamation marks when you are in Forms mode, you should have no problem e-filing the return.
Go ahead and scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Continue. The Needs Review message will NOT prevent e-file. Before you file the return(s), TurboTax will take you through a Complete Check and will flag any errors that will prevent e-filing then. You can continuing preparing your returns and ignore the needs review messages. If there are any errors on the return, the Complete Check in the final review section will prompt you to make changes before submitting the return(s).
