I am trying to purchase Turbo Tax Premier and I only have the option to purchase the small business option.

I don't own a small business anymore so why is it forcing me to purchase that option?

You are posting from Premier.   Are you trying to upgrade to unlock a prior year return?   You have to start a 2016 return and pay for it to unlock the prior years.  If you are in the Free Edition you have to upgrade to Plus or higher.  After you upgrade to Plus or higher you need to actually PAY for it.  Go up to My Account and click on Print Center and try to print your 2016 return and it should make you pay for 2016.

You are posting from Premier.   Are you trying to upgrade to unlock a prior year return?   You have to start a 2016 return and pay for it to unlock the prior years.  If you are in the Free Edition you have to upgrade to Plus or higher.  After you upgrade to Plus or higher you need to actually PAY for it.  Go up to My Account and click on Print Center and try to print your 2016 return and it should make you pay for 2016.

yup, I'm trying to pay for it now so that I can print a prior year's return. It seems to want me to go through the entire process for last year's taxes and start filing before I can get the option to pay though.

No  you just have to enter some basic info like your name, address, etc.  You don't have to fill it all out.  I said how to pay and gave a link how to pay.  But before you pay make sure you are in the right account and see 2015 in the Timeline.

When you logged in this year did it transfer from last year?  If not, you might have another account.  That's common.  First LOG OUT of whatever TurboTax account you're logged into right now. Then use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of user ID's for an email address.  Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery/">https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery/</a>

ok got it - thank you! I had to go straight to "file" and act as if I was done with my returns. Went through the prompts and clicked pay...and then just didn't file yet. Thanks again!
