I am amended my return for some reason i was upgraded from deluxe to premier how can I downgrade? normal options not showing, only trying to claim a dependent.

I am having the same issue, all I want to do is add a 1098 and its telling me ive selected to upgrade to deluxe which I never did, now its basically forcing me to pay 60.00, there is no way to downgrade, ive tried deleting my amendment several times, several different ways with no result. Maybe TurboTax will shed some light on this.

If you are amending a tax return and require a higher version of TurboTax because of the change and accept the upgrade you won't be able to downgrade. If you were previously on the free version then the 1098 is not included and an amendment will require that upgrade.

Taxpayers are eligible for Free Edition if they file a simple tax return (Form 1040 with no schedules): that includes W-2 income, limited interest and dividend income reported on a 1099-INT or 1099-DIV, claiming the standard deduction, Earned Income Tax Credit, and the Child Tax Credit.

@purveystephanie If the added dependent required some sort of other tax situation change then the system would require an upgrade depending on that reason. Please see this product comparison that explains the right TurboTax product for each tax situation.
