Husband wife 1099s

Husband and wife each received 1099S for half of sale amount of primary residence of 30 years. How do I enter this in turbo tax? I said both when questioned on sale of primary residence. Should I say husband first and then wife second for 'another residence'? If I add 1099s amounts together, return will not match IRS' copy of 1099S.r

If you report 100% of the sale amount (that is, the amount of the two 1099's together), the IRS will be satisfied.  If you're married filing a joint return, you can add the amounts together.  Do not report it as two separate sales.

We are filing married jointly. I entered this as two separate sales for the same address on turbo tax and it took it. If I treat it as one sale for the some of the two 1099S', it will not match the 1099S' the IRD received. Are you sure I should do that and not treat it as two separate sales? Thank you

Your call, as long as the total you report on your return matches the total the IRS received and the gain is calculated correctly, you're good. I question why you received two 1009-S though.  This is not common in a husband & wife sale.  Whatever you decide to do, keep your documentation in case the IRS writes you.
