My wife and I both had our own high deductible health plans and HSAs for 2019.
I switched employers and over funded my HSA and withdrew the funds through my HSA custodian in 2019.
My wife delivered our child in Oct of 2019 and the baby was put under her insurance for the remainder of the year so she had an individual plan for 9 months of 2019 and a family plan for the last 3 months. Her total contribution for the year is almost $700 above the individual limit
When I put all of this information in, turbotax is asking about the over funding for the year and including her $700 above the individual limit along with my excess contributions.
I have her coverage listed a self for Jan-Sept and family from Oct-Dec and it says her max annual contribution is $7000, but its still counting her amount over $3500 as excess.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

the contribution limit is split evenly between the spouses UNLESS they agree to a different split
so she can contribute $4200 to her HSA while yours is limited to $2800
Awesome, thank you so much!
