HSA Contribution not recorded on W2 box 12.

I made HSA contributions through my employer, but they are not listed in box 12.  I did receive a 1099-SA showing what medical expenses I used from the account and I have entered that information.  My employer won't create a corrected W2.

Am I able to complete my taxes with Turbo Tax?

HSA Contribution not recorded on W2 box 12.

@DaveF1006 's answer only applies if your employer did not reduce the amount in box 1 of your W-2 by the amount of your HSA contributions.  If your employer did reduce the amount in box 1 by the amount of your HSA contributions, you must instead tell TurboTax that your employer told you about other contributions, then enter the amount of contributions made by your employer for 2021 not reported on a W-2.  This will prevent TurboTax from giving you a deduction for the HSA contribution since it's already been excluded from your taxable income by the reduction of the amount in box 1 of the W-2.

Yes, you will be able to report your employer's contributions that weren't reported on a W2. To report.

  1. Go to federal>deductions and credits
  2. Medical>1099 SA, HSA...
  3. Enter the 1099 HSA and answer questions about the distributions. After entering there will be follow-up questions about the contributions.
  4. After you reach a summary page, select done at the bottom of the page.
  5. It will then ask about contributions.  s you navigate, this will ask if you put any money into the HSA, you will say yes because this includes employer contributions that were made.
  6. The next screen will ask if you personally made contributions, here you put 0.
  7. The next screen will ask, Did your employer tell you about any other contributions, you will say yes.
  8. A drop down will occur and you will record the contribution as employer and payroll contributions not reported in Box 12 of your W2.  This is what that screen will appear as.

HSA Contribution not recorded on W2 box 12.

The reported W-2 Wages shown in my W2 & Earnings Summary do show my contribution as "Less Medical", it's just not shown in Box 12.
