MY SON DID NOT WORK AND WAS HOMELESS IN CALIFORNIA. HE WAS GIVEN MEDICAL FOR A YEAR. I HAVE SENT HIM MONEY AND THEN HE MOVED TO TEXAS. HE LIVES WITH US AND WORKED ONLY 1 WEEK FOR THE YEAR. WHEN I FILL OUT THE TAXES I SELECTED HE HAD COVERAGE FOR 8 MONTHS. HOW DOES THE IRS VERIFY HE HAD COVERAGE.

If he was covered by Medi-Cal while he was in California, he would be issued a Form1095-B that will list all the months he had coverage. Please see this link for more information.
But even if you don’t receive the 1095-B, the IRS says that you can prepare your return using the information that you have available concerning your son’s coverage.
If he had another kind of coverage, please respond here with a comment.
