How do I switch from the online to the desktop version? I requested my online data but I got this email. Is there any way to get my tax data sooner?
We’re getting your QuickBooks and TurboTax data ready to download.
We’ll email you to let you know when it’s ready. This can take up to 45 days.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
You need get your ".tax201X" file from TurboTax Online, and put in on the computer where your Download/CD version will be installed. After the Download/CD version is installed on your computer, if it does not automatically find your *.tax201X file, you can find the file and open it.
See the TurboTax Help article at this link for the instructions to download your .tax201X file. If you are trying to retrieve the 2019 file you started in TurboTax Online, you'll need to pay for TurboTax Online, and then "pretend" lyou filed it by going to the File section and choosing "print and mail". Of course, you don't actually file that return, you instead retrieve the .tax2019 file and then "pick up" your 2019 return in the Download/CD version where you finish and file the tax return.
The X designation is because I'm not sure whether you are trying to get your 2018 data (from a .tax2018 file) or your 2019 data (from a .tax2019 file).
QuickBooks? So from QuickBooks or Turbo Tax Online to Desktop? If you are using QuickBooks Self Employed version you can only import it into Turbo Tax Online Self Employed version. And QuickBooks Self Employed version is not the same as the QuickBooks Online version.
What exactly do you want to transfer from online to where?
