Hi,
For a non-resident alien who lived abroad for 2020, how to tell Turbotax that the person isn't eligible for $1800 stimulus?
Thank you.

TurboTax cannot prepare returns for non-resident aliens. You should not be using TurboTax. TurboTax cannot prepare Form 1040-NR. TurboTax can only prepare returns for US citizens and "resident aliens for tax purposes." See this FAQ:
TurboTax has a partner Sprintax (one "t") that specializes in returns for non-resident aliens.

Tried to use sprintax but it's very unfriendly. It keeps throwing out errors when uploading documents.
The person used to be a resident alien and still has a social security number. In the past years has filed thru TurboTax. Is there any way to file 1040NR with something similar to TurboTax?
Thanks,

That story is more complicated. I'm just a fellow user and forum volunteer in the community and certainly no expert on international filing. I'll see if someone familiar with international filing can make any suggestions for you. They'll likely want to know several things:
1) What country is person from?
2) Is person married?
3) What is the person's current visa type and status?
4) What is the rest of the status history? You said person "used to be a resident alien." Was that based on a prior "substantial presence test?"
5) What dates has person been in the USA?
6) What does "non-resident alien who lived abroad for 2020" mean? Does that mean the person was not in the USA during 2020? i..e, did the person not work or earn income in the USA during 2020?
@pk Are you please able to assist here when you are next in the forum? Thanks!
Sprintax helps solve this problem.
Unlike Turbotax which can import some docs, you gotta enter all numbers manually yourself in Sprintax. Thankfully the CS was quite supportive.
Thanks.
