How to make sure I am listed as a dependent?

You can make sure you are listed as a dependent on a return by previewing the forms. This can be done in the printing center section of TurboTax. 

If you are the only person on the return, then you will not be considered a dependent. You are considered the taxpayer and will be listed as the taxpayer. 

• Login to your TurboTax Free Edition online account

• Click Take Me To My Return

• Click My Account (in the upper right hand corner)

• Click Print Center

• Click Print Save or Preview this year's return

• Click view or print

A pop up box should appear with a generated pdf preview file of your return. To be listed as a dependent, check page 1 of Form 1040 dependent section.
