I also for the past few weeks have been unable to get turbotax to accept my tax API key from Binance.US. I have tried deleting and creating new API keys several times and none of them go. I am wondering if there is a limit to the number of trades/transactions that turbotax can accept and upload... I have over 70,000. I don't feel I should have to pay $1000 to places like cointracker or koinly to calculate profit numbers for me to put into turbotax. I have also downloaded my .CSV file directly from binance.us to import to turbotax that way but none of the column titles match up so turbotax won't accept the .CSV file. So frustrating. Help please. Thanks.
TurboTax Online is equipped to handle around 10,000 individual transactions (give or take) per brokerage account before the performance starts to deteriorate. You may want to explore a summary statement instead of individual transactions.
See this TurboTax Help for more information.
My understanding is that the sample .csv crypto file should be sorted in this order.
Sample CSV crypto.csv
Purchase Date,Date Sold,Proceeds,Cost Basis,Currency Name
2/20/2020,3/15/2021,$485.00 ,$500.00 ,LTC
2/15/2020,4/10/2021,$85.00 ,$80.00 ,BC
Any updates on this?
I just tried using the tax API for Binance.US on turbotax and does not seem to work. Just states unable to import with no reason.
We have more than 10000 transactions so this was the reason we weren't able to import. TurboTax for some reason can only do 10000 or less which doesn't work for us :(
Any updates on Binance? I can’t get information to upload.
@Anonymous Gives some great information on this here.
If you need additional assistance, please comment and let us know.
I'm having the same issue. TurboTax won't accept the Binance.US API key--I get an error every time I try. I also can't upload the CSV transaction file from Binance.US. TurboTax tells me to rename fields in the CSV, but the Binance CSV file does not have corresponding columns. Buy/Sell is a single column in the Binance file, whereas TurboTax requires separate columns for the Buy and Sell dates.
If you are still unable to upload the information into Turbo Tax, please follow the instructions here to contact us by phone. @bwb33
"Binance.US Crypto Gain/Loss import is temporarily unavailable. However, you have three options: Try import again: Wait until April 6, when Binance.US Crypto Gain/Loss import is expected to be available again Enter the information manually"
Is this true? April 6 it will be fixed?
Well, it's April 6 now and after setting up the API twice today, TurboTax still refuses to import from Binance.US
Go and connect your Binance US account to contracker.io and then connect turbo tax with cointracker.io to pull Binance details.
That's great for some maybe, but I'm not paying $899.00 to Cointracker to do so. This is not a feasible option for me.
Has anything changed? Are you able to accept more than 10000 transactions yet?
