I am a trustee with my father's trust and estate. Due to some timing issues after his death, the broker sent a TY 2025 1099-B for transactions to my father's SSN and not the estate. I have completed what should be the hard part and re-issued the 1099-B to the estate through the IRS. But, the 2025 TurboTax software won't let me make the adjustment correctly for my father's final return. The only way I can find to make the adjustment is through the "I know my actual cost basis and need to make an adjustment" selection. This will let me adjust the sale to the correct $0 impact, but it defaults to the "B" code instead of the "N" code. I can't figure out how to change this to get the right code. Even in Forms it won't let me make any edits. Any guidance?

Another TurboTax shortcoming. In interview mode, there is no way to enter an "N". It can only be done in forms mode
These are instructions for using code N per 8949 instructions
You received a Form 1099-B or 1099-S (or substitute statement) as a nominee for the actual owner of the property
(Use code) N (column (f)
Report the transaction on Form 8949 as you would if you were the actual owner, but also enter any resulting gain as a negative adjustment (in parentheses) in column (g) or any resulting loss as a positive adjustment in column (g). As a result of this adjustment, the amount in column (h) should be zero. However, if you received capital gain distributions as a nominee, report them instead, as described under Capital Gain Distributions in the Instructions for Schedule D
That is frustrating, but thanks for the quick response and at least I can stop wasting time trying to make it work now.
